Essential Wholesale Recipe Wall of Fame :: Gauge Grease by Keegan

Hi, I'm Keegan, and I have worked for Essential Wholesale for many years now. You may have spoken to me on the phone, or over live chat. For this week's Wall of Fame, because it was my turn to come up with the recipe, I also authored the post. I had to think hard about what I wanted to do. I knew I was going up in gauge size for my ears, so I was trying to come up with something to help with that process. 

          

When you go up in sizes, you're stretching your ear lobes.  If you don't properly grease up your taper (which is a stretcher), you can blow out your ear lobe.That is extremely painful; I know because I've done it! I had to choose an oil that will help oil up the ear so that it can stretch. I decided on Hemp Seed Oil because it has a lot of great properties, among them an ability to help rebuild skin, which is what you want for the stretched lobes. Also, I wanted to add something that makes it smell better because when you wear gauges for a while, your ears start to smell and it's really gross. I choose Lemongrass to cover up that smell, mainly cause I love the smell of Lemongrass.

You’ve probably seen the ever-growing statement throughout the internet, “Free Shipping.”  It’s everywhere, and yet the question on everybody’s mind is, “is it really free?”  I’m sure you’ve also heard the saying, “there’s no such thing as a free lunch” — well, that pretty much covers “free shipping,” as well. To my knowledge, UPS, FedEx, and the USPS have not offered free shipping to any business out there. They do offer free packaging, labels, software, help aids and lines with their day-to-day services, but they don’t pick up for free. Yes, someone has to pay the bill, and you can be certain that the cost of all the free services are subsidized via the price that you, the customer, finally pay.

        

In this day and age of online ordering and shopping from the comfort of our home, we all find ourselves looking for the best price and the lowest cost of acquiring what we want and need. As a business person competing in this frenzy for sales, you will find yourself weighing the cost of offering free shipping to your customers. In the end, the decision, when properly analyzed, comes down to deciding to reduce quality and absorb the cost, raise prices and hope your customers will not notice that the new prices have the shipping built into the cost, reducing the staffing in both number and quality, or just absorbing the cost and eroding your margins to the point that you become unprofitable.

Mineral Make-Up Spotlights! Brown Eye Shadows

Here at Essential Wholesale, we offer a wide variety of Mineral Make-up. This week, we wanted to focus on various types of Brown Eye Shadows. We choose four different colors: Beachy Brown, Bronze Princess, Coconut Shell, and Cocoa Matte. 

All of our mineral eyeshadows can be applied either wet or dry.  We've given visual examples below to show you what a wet and a dry application for each shade of brown will look like. You will notice a dry application showcases a softer, more pastel look, while the wet application gives a more bold and intense look.  To apply the dry eyeshadow, we used our mineral makeup eyeshadow brush coated with a light amount of eyeshadow powder and applied with soft, buildable strokes.  To apply the shadow wet, we simply dipped the brush in water and repeated the process. Worldwide Jojoba Oil Shortage

It is nearly a year since we first told you about the worldwide jojoba shortage. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. Supplies are minimal and are bought up the moment they become available, and often even before. Essential Wholesale has been reserving stock months ahead of time, and there still isn’t sufficient supply. Even the biggest players nervously scrounge around for jojoba oil, which at this point can truly be described as golden because in this industry, it’s worth its weight in gold. As supplies shrink, worldwide demand only continues to grow.

          

Only today was I contacted by a distributor of large volumes of vegetable oils. He posed me with all too familiar questions: “Do you have any jojoba oil you can sell me? Do you have any leads?” Regretfully, I have to give him an equally familiar answer: “I’m sorry, but we just can’t”. Unfortunately, we are still forced to reserve and earmark our remaining Jojoba Oil for the production of Essential Wholesale bulk bases. We continue to source jojoba and over the last year have visited manufacturers around the world. We are investigating numerous possibilities for exclusive relationships in order to secure ample supplies, both for our own manufacturing requirements as for our customers.

We wait eagerly for more to become available, and we assure you that we will buy up as much jojoba as we can as it becomes available. In short, we will make it available for sale to you as soon as we can!

I ordered a sample of this a few weeks ago and it's working wonderfully.  I only wash my face at night, and in the mornings I use an astringent.  This one really cleanses without drying or stripping.  Skin feels very nice after.
