My day started as usual. I opened the doors at 6:30 am, turned on the lights, and went to my office to print the morning report, checked e-mails and created the daily production schedule before everyone arrived for the day. Then before I knew it, it was 7:00 a.m. and the crew was all here and ready to go. As I walked from department to department a theme starts to emerge bringing back memories of long ago.
In the manufacturing department there’s the smell of Chamomile, Lavender, Peppermint and melting butters in the air. The compounders were working diligently on their assignments for the day. Kyle was finishing the Peppermint & Tea Tree Conditioner and Kevin was preparing butters and oils for a private label balm.
The EO room smells Like Sweet Orange and as I make my way to the private label room Kathy and Stephanie are packaging holiday amenities bottles of fresh mint shampoos, conditioners and lotions and a private label body lotion with the scent of orange and cranberry. It seems like everywhere I walked this morning there was the familiar aroma of the holidays. The only thing missing was a petite 4 foot 8 gray haired lady stoking an old fashion wood stove and basting a turkey. It’s funny how scents or smells can take you back in time.
I told Kathy and Stephanie what I had been experiencing all morning and stated that the holiday season is upon us. I asked them to think of all the products we make that one could associate with the holidays. We came up with the following list of products:
Virgin Coconut Sugar Scrub (reminds Stephanie of macaroons)
Peppermint Lotions, Conditioners, Shampoos & Gels
Citrus Lotions, Conditioners, Shampoos & Gels
Lavender Shortbread Cookie dough Scrub
Chocolate Mint & Chocolate
Breathe Green Lotions & Shampoos
Coffee Butter & Coffee Salt Body Scrubs
And many E.O.’s & E.O. Blends
I hope you have a great pre-holiday season and can take the time to notice the scents and smells around. Maybe you too you can be taken back to found childhood memory. Today is was my grandparent’s country home at Christmas time.
Essentially,

This list makes me Holiday hungry!!! :-)
