Announcing Our New Breast Cancer Campaign
ast year we launched the Breast Cancer Awareness product line in order to raise money for one of our employees that had breast cancer. The campaign raised thousands of dollars for Heather through her chemotherapy and radiation treatments. When her treatments were done we began to search for a new breast cancer charity. We believe that raising funds and awareness for breast cancer is a year around event. During Breast Cancer Awareness month we are announcing our new charity for the Pink Grapefruit Lotion, Pink Grapefruit Shampoo and Pink Grapefruit Conditioner fundraising products.
Our new Breast Cancer partner is Pink Heart Funds Charity which gives wigs to men, women and children who have experienced hair loss from cancer. Last year, hair loss was the most devastating part of Heather's chemotherapy. Pink Hearts Funds was founded by JoAn Niceley in an attempt to survive her own diagnosis “one day at a time and putting one foot forward to help another.” JoAn uses her skills as a cosmetologist by facilitating the “Look Good Feel Better” program that was created by the American Cancer Society. She uses her personal experience and professional knowledge to assist cancer patients to help people with the cosmetic aspect of cancer treatments.
I love the idea of the Ponytail Club which encourages girls to start a pony tail drive at their local school. JoAn also has a cookbook called “Appetite for Living, Pink Ribbon Recipes” which raises funds for the Pink Heart Charity and honors her friends that she has lost to cancer since her own diagnosis. We were blessed to find the Pink Hearts Funds when a customer told us what a great charity it was. I love the community we live in that shares information and works together.
